We are seeking an experienced Flatbed Driver to join our clients team based in Fareham.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using a flatbed lorry. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively.
You may also be responsible for warehouse picking/loading on occasion too.
The role is full time Monday to Friday from 07:30 - 17:00 (42.50 hours per week) The role is paying initially £13.27 per hour.
* Operate a flatbed lorry to transport goods to various locations safely and efficiently.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
* Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
* Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
* Completing a maximum of 10 drops per day (on average 6-8)
Qualifications
* Valid commercial driving licence (C+E) with a clean driving record.
* Proven experience as a delivery driver and or in a similar role is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving heavy vehicles.
* Ability to operate flatbed lorries safely and efficiently, must have knowledge to secure loads.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
