Position: Gully Tanker Operator

Responsible to: Operations Manager
Contract type: Full-time, permanent

Overall objective
We seek to appoint a Gully Tanker Operator to join our busy and expanding team within McQuillan Outdoor. The successful candidate will report to the Operations Manager and must be hardworking, reliable, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role offers a competitive salary, variety, and the opportunity to work within a friendly and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a vacuum hose and jetting equipment to clear roadside drains and storm drains in Newry, working closely with the Gully Driver. Requirements include working in all weather conditions with suitable PPE provided. The role is physically demanding due to regular lifting of drain covers.
* Carry out drain cleaning of sewers and storm drains
* Work closely with the Gully Driver
* Operate vacuum and jetting equipment to clear blockages
* Work in all weather conditions with provided PPE
Essential Criteria
* Strong communication skills to interact with customers, the public and team members
* Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
* Ability to follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving
* Conduct daily pre-start inspections of the vehicle and report maintenance issues
* Maintain accurate records of work carried out
* Adhere to the company policies and procedures regarding transportation, safety and delivery protocols
Desirable Criteria
* Experience operating a commercial vehicle such as Jetvac or tanker
* CSR card in date
* Experience in traffic management procedures
* Experience in high pressure water jetting, manual handling, first aid and reversing assistant/banksman duties
