HR Director – Europe
We are partnering with a rapidly expanding global operational services organisation with a strong footprint across multiple European markets. As the business continues its ambitious growth journey, we are seeking a commercially focused and strategic HR Director to lead the regional people agenda and drive organisational performance across diverse, multi-site operations.
This is a high impact leadership role, overseeing HR strategy and operations across several European countries within a complex, fast-paced, service-led environment. The successful candidate will be a visible executive partner to regional leadership teams, aligning people strategy with commercial objectives while ensuring consistency, compliance and cultural alignment across markets.
The role:
1. Design and deliver a European people strategy aligned to business growth, operational excellence and cultural cohesion.
2. Lead and develop country HR teams, ensuring consistent standards across workforce planning, employee relations, talent, reward and compliance.
3. Partner with regional MDs and senior stakeholders to drive organisational design, performance improvement and cost optimisation initiatives.
4. Embed a high-performance culture, implementing robust appraisal, succession and leadership development frameworks.
5. Oversee workforce planning across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring effective labour management within operational environments.
6. Ensure full compliance with European employment legislation, works councils and local regulatory frameworks.
7. Drive engagement, retention and capability-building strategies across a geographically dispersed workforce.
8. Champion diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the region.
Experience:
9. Proven experience as an HR Director or Senior HR Leader within a multi-country European remit.
10. Background in operational, multi-site or service-led environments (e.g., retail,facilities management, hospitality, logisticsor similar).
11. Strong commercial acumen with experience aligning HR strategy to revenue growth, margin improvement and operational efficiency.
12. Deep understanding of European employment law and experience operating within unionised and regulated environments.
13. Demonstrated success leading organisational change, transformation and cultural alignment across markets.
