Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist / Clinical Neuropsychologist to join a specialist neurorehabilitation service in Ely. The service provides expert, evidence-based rehabilitation to adults with acquired brain injury and complex neurological conditions, supporting individuals to maximise independence and quality of life.
This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to shape clinical standards, contribute strategically to service development, and provide expert neuropsychological input across a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and professional leadership within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high standards of clinical governance and evidence-based practice.
* Deliver highly specialist neuropsychological and psychological assessments using standardised tools, structured observation and clinical interview.
* Formulate and implement complex psychological treatment plans for individuals with neurological, emotional and adjustment difficulties.
* Provide expert clinical consultation and supervision to psychologists and other clinicians.
* Lead on psychologically informed risk assessment and management, advising colleagues on best practice approaches.
* Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning, formulation meetings and service development initiatives.
* Support service and regional managers in the operational and clinical leadership of the service.
* Play a key role in audit, service evaluation, research and the development of clinical policy.
Person Specification
Essential
* Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent), accredited by the British Psychological Society.
* HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
* Significant post-qualification experience within neurorehabilitation or related neurological/complex care settings.
* Demonstrated ability to assess, formulate and manage complex clinical presentations.
* Strong leadership, supervision and multidisciplinary working experience.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and complex clinical situations.
* Experience of service development, audit or research activity.
Desirable
* Formal training or a strong professional interest in clinical neuropsychology.
* Experience contributing to policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
