As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a Lead mechanical engineer to join our Engineering function at Rawcliffe Bridge whose role it will be to provide leadership and subject matter expertise to our mechanical engineering function and the wider site.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance to relevant industry standards and driving positive change through the application of sound engineering principles. We are looking for an energetic people person who enjoys being part of a team.

* You should be educated to a minimum BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable discipline.
* You should have proven experience working in a relevant industry, such as oil and gas, petrochemical or chemical industries
* It is preferred that you will be chartered or actively working towards chartership with a recognised professional body.
* You should be an effective communicator, capable of influencing and building effective working relationships internally and externally to the business.
* You should be very good at problem solving using proven techniques such as RCA or failure analysis and have demonstrable project management skills.
* Strong knowledge of pressure systems design standards (ASME B31.3, ASME VIII, PD5500), legislation (PSSR regs, Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations 2016) and methods of repair.
* You must be an strategic thinker and inspiring people leader with demonstrable experience in dealing with multiple work fronts and demands.
The Following Is Desirable
* The ability to manage small to medium sized engineering projects
* SAP user and Autocad experience
* Experience of working on a COMAH registered site
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be part of a team that values diversity, sustainability, and continuous innovation, where your ideas and contributions matter.
* Own and manage your team’s personal development plans.
* You will work harmoniously with our other engineering functions and the operations team by leading the Mechanical engineering team to maintain and improve plant integrity, reliability, and operability from a mechanical perspective.
* You will lead / carry out failure analysis/RCA on plant failures.
* Working with the maintenance team you will develop engineering solutions to resolve issues to improve plant efficiency
* Participate in Management of Change (MOC) activities and contribute to risk assessment of proposed plant modifications.
* Manage small projects through concept, design, construction, and commissioning.
* Provide mechanical engineering support and oversight to major capital projects. Contribute to all stages of projects, including concept generation, Front End Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
* Assist in the development of mechanical engineering and integrity standards, procedures, and work instructions.
* You will be a member of the site engineering leadership team and as such would be expected to regularly collaborate on longer term strategy – annual objectives / 5 year planning etc.
