Working on a interim 6 month contract this role is home based with some but limited travel.
Salary circa £60k
About the Role:
As an Employee Relations Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our people strategy through expert ER case management. You’ll be the go-to advisor for managers and senior leaders on a range of issues — from disciplinaries and grievances to performance and absence management. With a high volume of ER cases, this is a role for someone who is confident, resilient, and solutions focused.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a high and varied caseload of employee relations issues from start to resolution.
* Partner with line managers to provide pragmatic and legally sound ER advice.
* Engage and negotiate with trade union representatives on a wide range of matters.
* Support complex investigations and hearings, ensuring best practice and compliance with UK employment law.
* Identify ER trends and recommend proactive interventions to reduce risk and improve employee experience.
* Contribute to policy development, process improvement, and ER capability building across the organisation.
What We’re Looking For:
* CIPD qualified or equivalent essential
* Strong background in managing high volumes of ER cases in a complex organisation.
* Demonstrable experience working with trade unions is key.
* Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage sensitive issues with discretion and tact.
