Registered Manager Overview
Here at First for Support, we are working alongside our partner in there search for a Registered Manager in the Fordingnbridge area.
As the Registered Manager, you will provide high-quality, child-centred care and support, ensuring that the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of all children and young people are consistently met. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring full compliance with safeguarding legislation, regulatory standards, and best practices.
Your leadership will promote a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where children and young people can thrive. You will lead, support, and develop the staff team to deliver outstanding care and achieve positive outcomes for every child.

Registered Required Experience and Qualification
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or a clear commitment and willingness to complete this qualification within the required timeframe.
* A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a residential childcare setting within the last 5 years.
* At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or management role within a children’s residential home.
* In-depth knowledge of safeguarding procedures, child protection legislation, and the regulatory frameworks set by Ofsted.
* Ability to meet the criteria for registration as a Registered Manager with Ofsted.
Registered Manager Key Responsibilities
* Provide effective leadership and strategic oversight of all residential home operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support.
* Ensure the home consistently meets or exceeds Ofsted standards, achieving Good or Outstanding inspection ratings.
* Lead and manage a team of staff, including recruitment, supervision, performance appraisal, and professional development, to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing culture where children feel safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.
* Uphold and promote high standards of professional practice, fully aligned with relevant legislation, regulations, and the home’s internal policies.
* Ensure the home operates in full compliance with statutory frameworks, including safeguarding and child protection protocols.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date policies, procedures, and risk assessments, regularly reviewing them to reflect best practice and legislative changes.
* Prepare and submit all required notifications, reports, and documentation to Ofsted and other regulatory bodies in a timely and accurate manner.
* Manage safeguarding concerns appropriately, working closely with the organisation’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to ensure child safety.
* Oversee the creation, implementation, and regular review of individualised care plans, ensuring they meet the holistic needs of each child.
* Collaborate effectively with social workers, education providers, health professionals, and families to support the best outcomes for children.
* Monitor and evaluate children’s outcomes, ensuring that each child receives the support needed to reach their full potential.
* Manage the home’s budget responsibly, ensuring financial transparency and alignment with the organisation’s policies.
* Oversee and ensure accountability for company expenditure, using resources efficiently to support the home’s objectives and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
