Senior Site Engineer – Major Renewable Infrastructure Project Near Inverness, Scotland Competitive Salary Accommodation/Travel Support Package An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Site Engineer to join a leading international engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering a major renewable energy and civil engineering project in the Scottish Highlands. This nationally significant infrastructure scheme forms part of a long-term UK energy investment programme supporting the resilience of the UK electricity network and includes complex tunnelling, heavy civils, structural concrete, infrastructure, and associated enabling works. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting engineering delivery, quality assurance, and construction coordination across a major infrastructure project, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with programme and technical requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Provide engineering control and setting out for major construction works • Maintain accurate site records, quality documentation, and engineering outputs • Support permits, task briefings, and construction documentation processes • Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams to ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications and approved designs • Contribute to short-term construction programmes and site planning activities • Support temporary works coordination and compliance with approved procedures • Carry out inspections, quality checks, and assurance activities in line with ITP requirements • Identify and escalate design issues, technical queries, and non-conformances where required • Promote high standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across site activities • Support and mentor junior engineers and site staff Project Scope Includes: • Renewable energy infrastructure • Major civil engineering works • Tunnelling and underground works • Structural concrete and infrastructure packages • Long-term engineering and construction programme Candidate Requirements: • Previous experience working as a Senior Site Engineer or Site Engineer within civil engineering or major infrastructure projects • Strong setting out and engineering control capability • Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and quality assurance procedures • Experience supporting temporary works and construction compliance desirable • Good understanding of HSEQ and construction site requirements • CSCS card and relevant engineering qualification expected • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to work within a fast-paced and technically complex project environment The project is based near Inverness, Scotland.
