Vehicle & Machinery Lead
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (DOE)

We are currently recruiting for a Vehicle & Machinery Lead to support our operational division. This role involves maintaining our company vehicles and agricultural/horticultural equipment, overseeing a team, and managing a large fleet of over 1,500 pieces of equipment and 70+ vehicles, including tractors, vans, trailers, ride-on mowers, and waste containers.
The position requires both hands-on mechanical work and administrative duties, including managing maintenance schedules, organizing external inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety and legal standards. Travel across various sites may be required to keep equipment in optimal condition.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing and working alongside a Workshop Fitter and liaising with the operations team
* Organizing maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime
* Ensuring all documentation complies with legislation and company policies
* Conducting preventative maintenance and preparing vehicles for MOT testing
* Liaising with suppliers and clients to meet budget and time constraints
Essential requirements:
* Full UK driving license
* Experience in vehicle or plant machinery maintenance, preferably in agricultural or specialized mechanical fields
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Strong organizational skills and safety knowledge
Desirable skills include agricultural mechanical experience and the ability to interpret technical data sheets.
