A leading London financial institution undergoing HR transformation, is hiring a Payroll Manager to lead its UK in-house payroll. The role is key to delivering payroll excellence during a new HR system implementation. Key Responsibilities Lead full UK monthly payroll with HMRC/statutory compliance. Act as senior escalation point for complex payroll and tax matters. Manage year-end filings (P11D, PSA, Form 42). Oversee expatriate payroll and liaise with external tax advisers. Produce payroll reporting, journals and reconciliations. Maintain strong controls and audit readiness. Lead and develop the payroll team. Drive process improvements and support Workday HR system implementation. Represent payroll in cross-functional forums and manage payroll risk escalation. Skills & Experience Proven leadership of in-house UK payroll in complex/regulated environments. Strong team leadership and people development skills. Expertise in UK employment tax and expatriate payroll. Deep knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements. Workday Payroll experience (implementation exposure preferred). Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and stakeholder influence. Highly organised and effective under pressure. Working Model Hybrid: 3 days per week in the London office.
