Little Horsted is a successful small rural school situated just off the A26 near Uckfield. We are a happy school community, where children are encouraged to reach their full potential, in a caring Christian environment.
The Governors are seeking to appoint a committed, inspirational, innovative and talented practitioner to the position of teacher and SENCO.
This role is offered on a 1.5‑day‑per‑week basis:
* One full day to be worked on‑site in school.
* The remaining half day may be worked either on‑site or from home, depending on a prior agreement.
A degree of flexibility will be required regarding how the additional half‑day is scheduled.
We seek to appoint an excellent teacher and SENCO who:
* Is passionate about children’s wellbeing, especially those who have special educational needs and/or disability.
* Is a Qualified Teacher who either has the National SENCO Award or is willing to undertake it.
* Has a proven track record of improving learning and progress, and is talented at working with pupils with a range of different abilities and needs (for example, sensory processing, global learning delay, ASD, ADHD and SEMH).
* Has good knowledge of the EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculum and SEN Code of Practice.
* Has the ability to lead staff in developing their knowledge and expertise in working with SEND children.
* Can lead and deliver professional growth for teachers and teaching assistants who work with SEND children.
* Has excellent communication skills and an ability to work within a team.
* Works effectively with teachers, parents and external agencies.
