We are looking for a Temporary Teacher of Music to join the Drama and Music department at The Royal High School.
About the School
The Royal High School is one of the oldest schools in Scotland. It has a strong sense of history and a commitment to innovation. It is a non-denominational, 6-year comprehensive, with students drawn from four catchment primary schools: Blackhall, Clermiston, Cramond and Davidson's Mains. The school was subject to an HMIE inspection in December 2022. The Senior Leadership Team comprises the Headteacher, four Depute Headteachers and the Business Manager. The current teaching staff complement is 100 FTE with 21 FTE staff other than teachers, including Pupil Support Assistants. There is an integrated Additional Support for Learning Team and Enhanced Support and Wellbeing Bases.
The school facilities include a high standard of accommodation, with extensive use of facilities outside normal hours and a Community Sports Hub designation. There is an active extra-curricular programme and recent capital developments, including areas to support a rising roll.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality Music teaching as part of the Drama and Music department.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s curricular and extra-curricular activities.
* Support pupil progress and Wellbeing in line with school policies.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience and/or qualification to teach Music in the Scottish education system.
* Compliance with pre-employment checks, including PVG scheme and, where applicable, Overseas Criminal Record Check.

Additional Information
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required for certain applicants. An unconditional offer of employment is contingent on satisfactory pre-employment checks.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
