Overview
Southampton, Store Support Office We’re looking for a Digital Insights Analyst to join B&Q. You’ll work to produce high quality analysis and insights, interact with a varied group of stakeholders, and help shape digital performance strategies to improve customer experience, drive revenue, and improve business efficiencies across B&Q and TradePoint.
Salary: From £37,000 + Pension + PMI + ShareSave + 6.6 weeks holiday + Hybrid Working. Location: Southampton, Store Support Office.
Role purpose
The Digital Insights Analyst works to produce high quality analysis and insights. You’ll interact with a varied group of stakeholders to build understanding of digital performance across the organisation and support future strategies.
Responsibilities
* Develop high-quality analysis on ecommerce performance, customer behaviour, product mix, market trends, and broader digital insight needs across commercial trading categories.
* Support deep-dive and incremental performance analysis to generate actionable insights.
* Deliver PIRs for digital promotions, range reviews, and seasonal campaigns—identifying opportunities and making informed recommendations.
* Interpret internal and external business issues, using tools like SimilarWeb to provide strategic recommendations.
* Maintain a customer-first mindset with omni-channel thinking to improve the customer experience.
* Collaborate with Digital Trading Managers and Marketplace Key Account Managers, building strong stakeholder relationships.
* Provide analysis to support growth across new channels, services, digital, marketplace, and retail media.
* Engage with the wider data community across the group and other banners and stay informed on analytics trends and competitor developments.
* Understand business processes, systems, and data structures to ensure analysis is built on relevant data.
* Work with the Digital Insights Manager and Senior Analyst to translate strategic goals into analytical challenges and develop website tagging requirements.
What we need
* Strong analytics background with experience writing moderately complex SQL queries.
* Proficient in behavioural analytics tools (e.g., Contentsquare), Google Analytics (including GA4), and external market analysis tools like SimilarWeb.
* Experience with cloud-based platforms such as Databricks and Google BigQuery.
* Skilled in measuring digital performance, optimising customer journeys, and improving ecommerce conversion.
* Solid understanding of statistical methods (hypothesis testing, confidence intervals).
* Detail-oriented with strong QA skills; able to validate and troubleshoot data and code.
* Committed to data governance and maintaining high data quality standards.
* Familiar with Agile frameworks and tools like Asana or Jira/Confluence for workload and documentation management.
* Curious and commercially minded—able to translate business goals into analytical challenges and impactful outputs.
* Strong communicator and storyteller, with experience in data visualisation (Power BI highly desirable).
