Maintenance Engineer Employment Type: Full-time, permanent Hours: 38.75 hours per week Shift Pattern: Rotating 3-shift system Week 1: 06:00 – 14:15 Week 2: 14:00 – 22:15 Week 3: 22:00 – 06:15 1 in 3 Sundays: 06:00 – 14:00 (mandatory) Shift Allowances: Early & late shifts: £0.20 per hour Nights: 25% Sundays: Time and a half Salary: £41,300 – £45,700 per annum (depending on experience) Benefits: Pension scheme, financial wellbeing support, salary access app The Role We are seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated, technically advanced engineering environment. This is a hands-on role supporting both preventative planned maintenance (PPM) and breakdown response, working across a mix of modern and legacy automation systems. Key Responsibilities Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across automated production and warehouse systems Electrical fault-finding including safe isolation, testing for dead, continuity and polarity checks Mechanical maintenance including pneumatics, motors, chains, and conveyors PLC fault-finding using plug-and-play systems (Siemens experience advantageous) Work on control panels, inputs and outputs Support facilities and building maintenance as required Generate accurate maintenance records, reports, and spares documentation Work collaboratively with contractors and internal teams to meet operational timelines Support and adapt to departmental change under new management Step up to mentor and support colleagues when required Equipment & Systems You'll Work On Conveyor systems and motorised rollers Automated pickers and storage & retrieval systems Lidding, strapping, bagging and printing machines Tote cranes, shuttles, lifts, and production lines Mix of newer and advanced legacy automation equipment About You NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Multi-skilled background (70/30 mechanical considered if electrically competent) Strong electrical safety knowledge and fault-finding ability Experience in a factory, manufacturing, or automated warehouse environment Comfortable working at heights and physically fit Confident working on electrical panels Willing to take on responsibility and support leadership when needed High attention to detail and honest, reliable work ethic What We're Looking For This role would suit an engineer who: Enjoys working in a technically advanced environment Is open to change and continuous improvement Wants to be a key part of a close-knit engineering team Is ready to step up, mentor others, and progress long-term
