Vacancy – Marketing Manager – E-Commerce Growth
About the company:
The Tea Makers of London is a leading family-owned speciality tea company in the UK offering exquisite selection of teas and teaware. The company was established 13 years ago, and since than it has become one of the trusted luxury tea brands within the speciality tea sector and has successfully built a strong Direct-2-Consumer and Business-2-Business client base. The company has a very strong online presence and currently looking to further expand its e-commerce growth.
About You:
The company is currently recruiting for an experienced and result driven Marketing Manager with proven track record to join the team. Ideal candidate should have a Bachelors Degree in Marketing or equivalent qualification with at least 5+ years experience working for an e-commence consumer goods company as a marketing manager. Have an excellent grasp of strategic planning and execution of the core e-commerce marketing functions.
About The Role:
This is a full-time permanent role based in our HQ in Dartford, Kent, with hybrid working option available.
Line report directly to the Director.
Line Manage Marketing Executive and other third-party agencies and freelances.
Core Responsibilities & Essential Competencies and Skills
Marketing Strategy
Responsibilities – Work closely with the management team to produce a comprehensive e-commerce marketing strategy for company.
Competencies and Skills: Experience in setting challenging yet achievable performance targets. Proactively review and reports on progress. Help produce a detailed marketing calendar.
E-Commerce Site Management
Responsibilities - Managing the company website, including regular updates to the site with imagery and content in accordance with brand guidelines. Also look into website health, speed and performance; resolve minor technical issues and improve user experience of the website.

Competencies and Skills- Excellent operational knowledge of Shopify or similar e-commerce platform including its admin features and functionalities are essential. Some background in IT and coding will be useful to look into the technical aspects of the site, troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
Email Newsletters
Responsibilities: Plan successful newsletter campaigns throughout the year. Have a clear strategy for growing the subscriber list.
Competencies and Skills: Ability to segment customer groups, set up offers and rewards for customers in order to maximise return. Maximise the revenue by promoting company’s incentive schemes such as Subscriptions, Reward Schemes. Expereince in using Klaviyo and Shopify Plus
SEO
Responsibilities - Accruing new customer base through Organic Traffic (SEO). Good understanding of competitor analysis and proactively and systematically working towards achieving top keyword ranking for the products and brand. Capitalise on keywords the company is already ranking highly.
Competencies and Skills- Ability to continuously monitor the google keywords ranking and ensure the right measures are taken continuously to improve the ranking for the company’s core product range. Experience in interpreting data and making data driven decisions.
Social and Paid Ads
Responsibilities - Promoting the company via the social channels, collaboration, competition/give-aways, with a view to acquire followers and customers. Using Social as a Paid-Ad channel and generate revenue.
Competencies and Skills - Proven track record of increasing social following and looking for collaboration with likeminded bloggers, and companies to cross promote the brand.
Google AdWords and MS Advertising
Responsibilities – Manage AdWords and MS Bing and ensuring the company achieve the revenue targets and acquiring new customer base through Pay Per Click (PPC) are met.
Competencies and Skills- Set PPC strategy and ability to analyse data, review ad campaigns, budgets and optimise performance is essential. Act as the first point of call to liaise with a third party PPC company for managing the account. Good knowledge and understanding of the GA4 set up and Search, Shopping and PMAX is essential.
Understanding Data and General Sector Knowledge
Responsibilities - Ability to analyse and interpret data and use it to carryout data-lead highly effective marketing campaigns.
Competencies and Skills- Excellent sector knowledge and a good understanding of the google SEO protocols, Google Search, Shopping and Dynamic search. Keeping up to date with the changes and trend in relation to FMCG.
Systems
Competencies and Skills- Competent in using Google Analytics (GA4), Adwords, MS Advertising, Klaviyo, Semrush, Shopify and other relevant e-commence tools.
Creative Flair
Responsibilities - Imagery is a vital part of our tools to communicate with customers. Providing creative input in line with the brand guidance. Create imagery and videos that reflects the brand. Liaise with the graphic designer and photographer/videographer and direct shoots.
Competencies and Skills- Ability to use Adobe suite to create basic graphic design would be advantages, as well and ability to put together basic content and blogs and newsletters.
Content creation
Responsibility – Creating authentic and engaging content is one of the key strategies. Create a comprehensive content strategy for the company for websites and other platforms.
Competencies and Skills: Ability to review and refresh brand and product content on a regular basis, at the same time to have a clear content strategy. Give clear and concise guidance to content creators when producing articles for blog posts.
Managing Staff
Responsibilities - Experience in managing staff is desirable.
Competencies and Skills: Excellent people skills to work collaboratively within a small team. Ability to provide help and guidance to line reports and other members of the staff as required.
