We are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Cambridge, starting as soon as possible. The Role As a Year 6 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across all areas of the curriculum. You will foster resilience, independence, and positive learning behaviours, while supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally. A key part of your role will involve preparing pupils for statutory assessments (SATs) and ensuring they are confident and ready for secondary education. You will collaborate closely with teaching assistants, Key Stage 2 colleagues, and senior leaders to maintain high standards across the year group. Communication with parents and carers is essential to support pupil learning and development, and to foster strong home–school partnerships. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum Prepare pupils for SATs and secondary school transition Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and school-wide initiatives Support extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6 Be confident delivering literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and professional team Location The school is based in Cambridge, with excellent transport links and a welcoming local community.
