Pastry Chef Tutor - Adult Learning
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pastry Chef Tutor to join the Adult Learning team on a claims basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £24.53 - £41.17 per hour.
We are a high-achieving college attracting around 2,800 sixth form students each year, located within the stunning New Forest National Park, offering a wide range of courses and superb facilities.
About the role:
As the Pastry Chef Tutor, you will teach part-time City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Patisserie and Confectionery, including both theory and practical sessions. This is an adult course, held one evening per week.
Responsibilities include:
* Delivering the City & Guilds Certificate in Patisserie and Confectionery Level 3 to adult learners.
* Utilising virtual learning platforms and providing data as per college policies.
* Monitoring learner progress in collaboration with the Curriculum Lead.
* Supporting inclusive learning, accommodating various learning styles and needs.
* Contributing to curriculum design, delivery, and development.
* Staying updated with developments in Patisserie and Confectionery.
* Sharing best practices in teaching methods.
* Participating in the College’s Lesson Observation Scheme.
Ideal candidates will have:
* Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Patisserie and Confectionery or equivalent.
* Willingness to study towards a teaching qualification.
* At least 3 years’ experience as a Pastry Chef in a restaurant, hotel, or production setting.
* Mentoring skills and team support experience.
* Knowledge of current trends in Patisserie and Confectionery.
* Ability to relate well to learners of all abilities and assess their needs.
