Sugarman Children’s Services are looking for a motivated, passionate, reliable and friendly individual to join our team. providing 1:1 mentoring support to children with complex and challenging needs.
As an outreach youth worker, you will be responsible for offering a range of support to Primary/ Secondary students, from a few hours to multiple sessions per week, during school hours. We are seeking individuals who share our passion for making a difference in the lives of young people by building a rapport with the young people to gain a good perspective of their day-today experience and support them engaging in positive activities. You will be required to take the young person out into the community, build on their self- confidence, self – esteem. Support to reintegrate them back into an education setting.
Our young people are based within Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.
About the role:
1. Working with primary/secondary aged young people, with challenging behaviours and complex needs.
2. Support with life skills, social skills.
3. Engaging successfully with challenging young people, for example children who have complex needs, are reluctant to discuss their needs, and are unable to regulate and process their feelings.
4. Flexible working days (Monday – Friday)
5. Flexible working hours (9am-12pm or 1pm to 3pm)
6. Term Time only
7. Provision : SEN / SEND/
8. Pay Rate : £20 per hour
9. Start date : ASAP
10. Location : Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole.
11. Provision is usually held at residential or within a community venue subjecting on the needs of the young person.
To be eligible for this exciting opportunity we require the following:
12. Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour/ complex needs.
13. Have a good understanding of managing/mentoring young people.
14. Minimum 2 years’ experience
15. Enhanced DBS on the update system or willing to apply for a new DBS if required.
16. Hold right to work in the UK.
17. Knowledge and understanding of the Safeguarding Policy
18. Provision is usually held in a residential or within a community venue subjecting on the needs of the student
