Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Equine Groom to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for animal care and have experience in maintaining the health and well-being of horses. This role involves a variety of tasks that ensure the cleanliness, grooming, and overall care of the equine facilities. The Equine Groom will also be responsible for basic maintenance of equipment and tools used in daily operations. There is a opportunity to ride and compete at Endurance to the right candidate. We have youngstock and stallions.
Driving licence is a must.
No accommodation at present.
Responsibilities
* Provide daily grooming for horses, including brushing, bathing, and hoof care.
* Maintain cleanliness of stables, paddocks, and surrounding areas to ensure a safe environment for the horses.
* Assist with feeding schedules and monitor the health and behaviour of the horses.
* Use power tools and hand tools safely for various tasks related to horse care and facility upkeep.
* Engage in heavy lifting as required when moving hay, feed, or other materials necessary for horse care.
* Assist with garden maintenance, including irrigation and upkeep of landscaping around the equine facilities.
* Keep accurate records of horse care routines, feeding schedules, and any observed changes in behaviour or health.
Requirements
* Previous experience in animal care, particularly with horses, is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in basic maths for measuring feed quantities and maintaining records.
* Capability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
* Physical stamina to engage in heavy lifting and long hours spent outdoors.
* Weekend work will be required.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality animal care.
