We are seeking a proactive and forward thinking Cover Supervisor to work in a Hastings Secondary School. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment by supervising classes in the absence of regular teachers. Duties
* Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher.
* Ensure that students remain on task and engaged during lessons.
* Communicate effectively with students to foster a supportive learning environment.
* Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher while adapting them as necessary to meet students' needs.
* Maintain discipline and promote positive behaviour among students.
* Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to student management.
* Assist in administrative tasks related to classroom management as required.
Skills
* Strong leadership abilities to guide and motivate students effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with students and staff.
* Proficient in time management to ensure smooth transitions between activities and lessons.
* Experience in team management, fostering collaboration among staff for optimal student outcomes.
* Ability to sell ideas and strategies that enhance the educational experience for students.
* Knowledge of sales management principles can be beneficial in promoting school initiatives or events.
* Multilingual capabilities are an advantage, enhancing communication with diverse student populations.
* Backgrounds in sports or care will provide transferable skills to work within an educational setting.
