About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Business Intelligence Analyst
to join our Strategy, Planning & Performance team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping how data and insight inform strategic decisions across the organisation.
The postholder will lead on the analysis of student recruitment and market performance, provide insight into the size and shape of our academic portfolio, and act as the data lead for our Access & Participation Plan. Working with colleagues across professional services and academic areas, you will ensure that decision-makers at every level are equipped with high-quality information and evidence.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse internal and external datasets to provide insight into
student recruitment performance
and wider market trends.
* Monitor and evaluate the
academic portfolio
, supporting evidence-based planning and resource allocation.
* Act as the
data lead
for the organisation's
Access & Participation Plan
, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting widening participation objectives.
* Produce compelling dashboards, reports, and visualisations that make complex data accessible to non-specialists.
* Engage with senior stakeholders to translate analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
* Contribute to the development of a data-driven culture, identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong technical and analytical skills with excellent communication abilities. You should be able to move seamlessly between detailed data work and big-picture insights, presenting information in ways that influence senior decision-makers.
Essential skills and experience include:
* Proven ability to analyse and interpret large, complex datasets.
* Strong skills in data visualisation and communicating insight to non-technical audiences.
* A track record of producing high-quality, actionable reports and recommendations.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
* Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and managing expectations.
Experience working with higher education data sources (e.g. UCAS, HESA) or in a similar sector would be an advantage, but is not essential.
