We have a new opportunity to support a Year 2 learner who needs gentle, low‑demand tuition to help them re‑engage with learning in a way that feels safe, calm and manageable.
We are looking for a patient, child‑led tutor who can deliver Primary Maths and English sessions and who has experience supporting children with communication, sensory and regulation needs.
About the Learner
This young person has an EHCP and requires highly individualised support due to:
significant communication and interaction needs
sensory‑regulation differences
high anxiety around demands and transitions
dysregulation in busy or noisy environments
difficulties accessing learning in a traditional settingTuition will therefore need to be calm, predictable, and fully child‑led.
They currently attend another AP provider for mentoring, so we want to be careful not to overwhelm them. For this reason:
Tuition Details
1 hour per week to start
Wednesday or Thursday (flexible)
Hours will gradually increase once trust and a relationship have been established
Sessions must take place in a quiet, low‑stimulus environment
Absolutely no noisy or busy settingsThis provision is designed to help the learner rebuild confidence, reduce anxiety and gently re‑engage with Maths and English at a pace that suits them.
Tutor Requirements
£25-£30 per hour
Must have a minimum of 6 months experience working in a UK‑based education setting
Experience with:
communication and interaction needs
sensory‑processing profiles
regulating and reducing anxiety
child‑led approaches
trauma‑informed practice (desirable)
Calm, patient and responsive to the child's emotional needs
