About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision supporting pupils aged 11–19 with a range of complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. The setting follows a nurture-based, trauma-informed approach, helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and independence.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils in accessing a personalised curriculum across academic and life skills pathways.
* Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement individual EHCPs.
* Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent routines and relational practice.
* Assist with classroom activities, sensory interventions, and off-site learning experiences.
* Build trusting relationships with pupils, encouraging engagement and progress.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly SEMH.
* A caring, patient, and adaptable approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Understanding of trauma-informed and attachment-aware practices (training can be provided).
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
