DBA - Migration - Oracle and SQL Server - Edinburgh
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Migration DBA to join a large public sector organisation in Edinburgh and lead database migrations as part of a major application migration programme. You'll work across SQL Server and Oracle estates, moving from on-premises environments into Azure or co-location datacentres.
This is a hands-on role where you'll plan, design, and execute migrations, ensuring data integrity, performance, and compliance throughout.
Essential skills:
1. Strong experience as a SQL Server DBA and/or Oracle DBA
2. Hands-on migration experience with enterprise environments
3. Skilled in backup/recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
4. Knowledge of Azure VM hosting for SQL Server/Oracle
5. Understanding of networking fundamentals for database connectivity
6. Comfortable working under structured change control processes
