Hays is recruiting for a Principal Urban Catchment Modeller based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will work with the Surface Water Management (SWM) national team within a multidisciplinary group focused on nationwide projects. Your new role
The Principal Urban Catchment Modeller will work on projects related to stormwater management, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), wastewater, and integrated networks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct feasibility studies, project scoping, and catchment drainage studies using computer modelling.
* Perform analysis to support operational and environmental recommendations.
* Manage technical and project aspects of surface water management initiatives.
* Build and maintain relationships with clients, including water companies and other organizations.
* Assist in preparing bid documents and cost estimates.
* Oversee project teams and support resource planning.
* Promote staff development through training and personal growth.
* Participate in technical innovation and improvement workgroups.
What you'll need to succeed
Qualifications and skills include:
* Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or related field.
* At least 5 years of relevant experience.
* Knowledge of the water environment and sustainability.
* Experience with surface water management projects.
* Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.
* Experience in integrated drainage modelling.
* Proficiency with hydraulic modelling software (preferably ICM).
