An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Sandwell College Group as we open our brand-new, state-of-the-art campus — a modern, inspiring space designed to empower both staff and students. We are looking for a passionate and innovative Lecturer in Essential Digital Skills to deliver engaging and accessible digital learning to adult learners. You will play a key role in helping students develop essential digital confidence, knowledge, and employability skills, contributing to their personal and professional growth in an increasingly digital world.



Key Responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Essential Digital Skills and IT programmes
* Design and deliver creative lessons on topics such as computer basics, internet use, software applications, digital communication, and online safety
* Integrate Information Learning Technology (ILT) and multimedia resources to enhance the learning experience
* Prepare schemes of work, assessments, and learning materials that meet awarding body requirements
* Provide individual support and guidance through course and personal tutoring
* Contribute to curriculum planning, development, and internal verification
* Maintain accurate records of learner progress, attendance, and achievement
* Support learners to achieve their personal and academic goals
* Stay current with industry trends and advancements in digital technology to keep teaching content relevant and engaging
* Collaborate with colleagues, employers, and external partners to meet learner and community needs
* Promote the College’s values and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety standards



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

* A Level 3 qualification in English
* A Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above
* Proven experience in teaching digital skills or IT to adult learners, including those with ESOL needs
* Strong understanding of digital technologies, software applications, and online learning platforms
* Experience using e-learning tools and digital delivery methods
* Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, safeguarding, and Prevent
* A collaborative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach to teaching and learning


Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

✅ Accepted Qualifications:
* DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* Certificate in Education
* PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
* DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
* DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).

❌ Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:
* PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
* CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
* SFHEA (Senior Fellowship)
