The role will support the finance manager with all finance related matters within the real estate development projects at Mace. The role will include hands on training from the finance manager and potential to embark on ACCA study in the future. This role would suit someone seeking a career in finance, someone returning to work or looking for a new career path. You’ll be responsible for:

* Accounting and reporting for the development area of the business.
* Preparing monthly management accounts under supervision of the finance manager.
* Posting of sales invoices and assisting the accounts payable team with queries relating to purchase invoice postings.
* Ensuring Invoices are posted into correct project numbers.
* Managing the reconciliation of banks weekly ensuring all receipts and payments posted onto the finance system for relevant companies.
* Setting-up intercompany transfers
* Completing balance sheet reconciliations and ensure strong levels of financial control.
* Liaising with Mace Group finance team in reconciling group intercompany accounts.
* Providing support in preparing other financial reports as guided by the finance manager.
* Assisting with year-end subsidiary statutory accounts production in OneSource accounts preparation software.
* Liaising with company secretary, treasury and tax team when required.
* Maintaining and updating finance records/spreadsheets.
* Assisting in the audit process by providing information and data as requested.
* Assisting the finance manager in maintaining the short term and long term cashflow forecast for develop entities.
* Providing assistance to the group reporting team as required around year end.
* Assisting the finance manager in the preparation and monitoring of the monthly P&L forecast.
* Assisting the finance manager in preparation of the 1–5-year budget.
* Assisting the finance manager in liaising with third party accountants for areas of accounting and reporting that are outsourced, and review deliverables.
* Progressing your studies towards ACCA qualification.

You’ll need to have:

* Excel user.
* GCSE standard English and Mathematics, (or equivalent) (Grade C or above).
* A level standard qualification (or equivalent).
* Collaborates well with internal and external stakeholders, building trusting and respectful relationships.
* Demonstrates clear, concise written and verbal communication.
* Uses their own judgment to make decisions and escalate problem when necessary.
* Adapts and reacts well to changing priorities and requirements.

* Uses data, data analysis or other evidence to support solution finding process.

* Holds a genuine interest in real estate developments.

You’ll also have:

* Awareness of basic accounting concepts either through formal study or on the job experience.
* Demonstrable hands-on experience of using accounting systems (Oracle preferred).
* Formal foundation level accountancy training (ACCA F1, F2 or F3 papers), AAT or accounting degree (or equivalent).
* Undergraduate degree (or equivalent).
