Olivia is our friendly virtual assistant, available to support you navigate through the application process 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Olivia can answer common questions, guide you through application steps, arrange interviews, and provide timely updates to help make the recruitment journey smooth and accessible. Olivia cannot make hiring decisions, which are always made by human recruiters.
Eligibility
Before we can employ you, we are required to verify your eligibility to work in the UK & Ireland. Acceptable documents to evidence your right to work can be found here. You’ll need to provide original documents such as a valid passport or a valid UK/Ireland visa (with a college letter listing term dates, where applicable). Only original documents will be accepted.
Interview
The interview is an absolutely vital part of our hiring process. It helps us understand your Values and Attitudes and whether you’d be a great fit at McDonald’s. We may ask for examples of times you have worked as part of a team and how you contributed to that team. We hire for qualities and potential, rather than just qualifications.

Additional Information
How often you are paid varies by whether you work in a franchised or company-owned restaurant. Typically, pay can be every 2 or 4 weeks for hourly staff, and monthly for salaried employees. Our restaurant hours vary by location, with many locations open 24 hours. Uniforms are provided. We promote internal career progression; many leaders started within our restaurants.
Age Requirement
Does McDonald’s promote its employees? Definitely. There are no limits to how far or fast you can progress. The minimum age to work is determined by local employment laws and restaurant policy.
