As a Consultant you will lead a team, build a career, and work with CPNs and integrated team psychologists to provide medical expertise for CTT patients across psychosis and non‑psychosis pathways. The team is a pilot site for Community Transformation work and you will support the Trust and your team during this process.
The post is an 8‑session per week over 4 days. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including junior doctors, providing clinical leadership and ensuring best practice care.
Responsibilities include providing consultant clinical leadership, assuming responsible clinician status, leading care plan development, carrying out psychiatric assessments, prescribing psychotropic medication, fostering relationships with other psychiatrists, and providing advice to MDT and primary care colleagues.

Job responsibilities
Applicants should be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT at interview. Candidates must be eligible for Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.
This is a substantive 8‑session post; full‑time applicants are welcome. The role provides your own office space and support from a medical assistant or secretary.
Qualifications and Training
* MBBS (or equivalent)
* Included on GMC Specialist Register (General Psychiatry) or eligible for inclusion; trainee within six months of CCT
* Approved under Section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983
* Approved Clinician Status
* MRCPsych or equivalent qualification
* Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
* Training in educational supervision
* Training in appraisal
Knowledge
* Up‑to‑date knowledge in Psychiatry
* Awareness of current issues and controversies in service provision, mental health policy and legislation
* Special interests demonstrated by publications or presentations to learned societies
Experience
* Experience of multidisciplinary team working
* Wide clinical experience in general adult psychiatry across different settings
* Experience of clinical audit
* Experience in multi‑agency work with service users, carers and voluntary agencies
* Experience in service management or development
Skills
* High level of clinical skills
* Effective teamwork within a multidisciplinary team
* Proven competence in diagnosis and management of psychiatric disorders in adult psychiatry
* Excellent teaching skills
* Ability to work in a time‑efficient manner
* Established record of clinical leadership
* Established ability as a clinical teacher
* Training in specific and relevant treatment skills (e.g., brief psychological therapy)

Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 a year, pro‑rata for part‑time.
