A leading Optical and Hearing Care Domiciliary company are looking to recruit an Optical Lab Technician, a minimum of 1 2 years plus experience to work at their Lab based in Cambuslang.
Job Summary
They are looking for a skilled and motivated Optical Lab Technician to join their laboratory team. This role plays a key part in delivering high quality optical products by accurately manufacturing and glazing lenses in line with prescriptions, quality standards, and turnaround times.
Key responsibilities
1. Interpret and process optical prescriptions accurately
2. Edge, glaze, and assemble lenses into frames
3. Carry out quality checks to ensure lenses meet prescription and company standards
4. Operate and maintain optical lab machinery safely
5. Identify and resolve production issues efficiently
6. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory environment
7. Consistently meet turnaround time targets to support timely delivery of glasses
Person Specification
Essential
8. High level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
9. Good manual dexterity and practical skills, with the ability to handle delicate materials and equipment
10. Ability to work efficiently and maintain accuracy under pressure and to tight turnaround times
11. Reliable, with a positive and team focused approach to work
12. Strong awareness of health and safety, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
Desirable
13. Previous experience working within an optical laboratory or similar production environment
14. Experience using optical lab equipment, including edging and glazing machinery
