Job Description
We are seeking a supply chain professional to join our team in Whiteley, to help us bring our life-saving new technology to market.
Responsibilities
You will join the Manufacturing team, and will be expected to:
Inventory Planning:
Liaise with other staff regarding buying requirements; Maintain stock and inventory; Monitor inventory levels in parallel with production forecasts; Assist in forecasting requirements; Maintain Quality Systems to ISO 13485 (Medical device equivalent of ISO 9001)
Procurement:
Suggest suppliers, both primary and backup; Build solid relationships with key suppliers; Maintain the approved supplier list; Place orders & request quotes; Receive goods and book them in; Visual inspection, pass to others for functional tests as required; Maintain inventory spreadsheet; Dispatches/Shipping – especially for returns
Supplier Quality Management:
Monitor supplier performance; Address issues with Quality or delivery issues; Work with Manufacturing on any part shortages, disruption or delays.
Any other duties as requested
Qualifications
Minimum 1-2 years in similar purchasing/procurement role In manufacturing/production
Familiarity with raw materials, machined parts, assemblies and technical drawings
Understanding of supply chain management, logistics, MRP etc.
Ability to liaise with suppliers, negotiate terms, place orders and track progress
The ability to work well in a team and to manage & prioritize your own workload with minimal supervision.
Great interpersonal skills, as we are a small, close-knit team with a culture of togetherness.
Good communication skills, to liaise with colleagues and the wider community.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to use your initiative to fix things when they go wrong.
An accurate and methodical approach to work, including documentation in compliant with our QMS.
Being a self-starter – you should have great self-motivation to do a great job and to help the company succeed.
Good numeracy and IT skills.
