Job Description
D & S Executive search, the premier, executive search firm in the electric mobility industry and its full value chain, is currently seeking a system integration engineer on behalf of a client, a global company specialising in motor control systems and instrumentation, for the electric vehicle markets.
The Role:
The role will primarily be a mixture of software development and commissioning of Industrial Electric Vehicle (EV) systems where good project management, customer interface and technical expertise will be expected. The person will be expected to be able to troubleshoot, work autonomously and set the highest standards at all times. Working away from home is possible for typical durations of between 2 – 5 days in the UK and in Europe. How you’ll contribute:
• Provide In-house product support for staff and customers. Work closely with customer engineers and their own design teams to create project specific application solutions for electric vehicles using industrial drives.
• Commissioning of vehicles at customer locations within the UK and Europe.
• Development of vehicle system product specifications.
• Analyse vehicle setup (including schematics, physical wiring layouts, positioning of components)
• Participate in project reviews and development.
• Develop proprietary application code.
Requirements
Experience that is useful:
• BSC EE degree or equivalent in Mechatronics, Robotics or Motor sport Engineering Experience in programming using high-level languages such as Basic, C, or Python.
• Experience of working with software, and electronic systems and the associated tool environment.
• Knowledge of vehicle communication systems such as CANopen and J1939.
• Knowledge of functional safety requirements
• Knowledge of the software development life cycle
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team

Excellent commercial negotiation skills: Ability to model, negotiate and close complex deals across multiple stakeholders Experience working with commercial vehicle fleets: A good understanding of the fleet management value chain and fleet pain points Commercial acumen: To enable you to forecast revenue for your territory accurately and customers, maintain contact information, business history and actively manage your prospect pipeline Full UK driving license What will help you stand out A strong network of contacts and relationships across the commercial fleet space, especially for truck, bus and van Previous experience in EV charging systems or fleet electrification Additional languages
