Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in various kitchen environments including fine dining and catering. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and presentation of our dishes while maintaining a clean and organised kitchen.
Duties
* Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during peak hours.
* Assist in menu planning and food production for special events, including banquets and catering services.
* Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques.
* Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
* Manage shift operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
* Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and kitchen areas throughout service.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a line cook or similar role within the food industry.
* Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques.
* Experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings preferred.
* Familiarity with food service management practices, including inventory management and menu planning.
* Excellent leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising staff.
* Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for food handling.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
* Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus but not required.
* A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
