SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive school setting in Surrey, working with pupils who present Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role
As an SEMH LSA, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning
Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support EHCP targets
Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting SEMH, ASD, or challenging behaviour (school, PRU, AP, youth work, or care background welcomed)
Is calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
Has strong communication and behaviour management skills
Is passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives
Holds (or is willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS on the Update ServiceWhat We Offer
