Overview
Greencore is a supplier of food products to major UK supermarkets. At the Manton Wood site, there are around 1,700 colleagues producing sandwiches and wraps for retailers including Co-op, Asda, Morrisons, Boots, Aldi and Lidl. The site offers facilities such as a gym, restaurant with hot food and a staff shop for colleagues.
Responsibilities
* Machine operators take care of all machine-specific functions such as configuring the equipment, loading and operating the machines, and optimizing the machine capability.
* Ensure the machine works at full capacity, oversee maintenance, and perform timely quality checks.
* Be a self-starter and be willing to undergo training to understand the operations of new equipment.
* Hands-on experience with machine operating and production lines.
* Learn to operate different machines and processes involved with the production.
* Learn on the job regarding best practices in the industry.
* Gain exposure to the production industry and professionals.
Qualifications
* Prior experience as a machine operator.
* Strong knowledge of heavy-duty and high-speed machinery.
* Strong ability to use measurement tools.
* Good understanding of production procedures and best practices.
* Excellent knowledge of safety methods and hazard regulations.
* Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and handbooks.
* Good physical stamina and keen attention to detail.
