Position: Classics Teacher Location: Lewisham Start date: September 2025 Contract: Full Time Smart Teachers is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Classics Teacher to join a leading independent girls’ school in South East London. This is an exciting opportunity to teach Classics across a range of key stages on a supply basis, covering an ongoing absence. The Role Delivering high-quality lessons in Classics across Key Stages 3–5 (Latin, Classical Civilisation and/or Ancient History as applicable). Planning and preparing engaging lessons aligned to departmental schemes of work. Assessing, tracking and supporting students’ progress. Maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement in the classroom. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Strong subject knowledge in Classics and related disciplines. Experience of teaching at least one classical subject to A Level. Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
