Job Overview
We are seeking reliable and dedicated Self Employed Courier Drivers with their own car or van to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving practices and the ability to handle heavy lifting as necessary.
This role is pay per parcel delivery. The more you deliver the more you can earn.
Responsibilities
* Drive a van or other delivery vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
* Ensure all deliveries are made in a timely manner, adhering to scheduled routes.
* Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring safe handling of all packages.
* Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery status and any potential issues.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies.
* Conduct routine checks on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
* Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
* You will be required to sort, scan and load your parcels at Manvers each day between 09.00hrs and 13.00hrs.
* Deliveries can be made around other commitments but must be completed by 21.00hrs each day.
Skills
* Proven experience as a van driver or delivery driver is preferred.
* Capable of delivering in excess of 100 parcels per day.
* Strong commercial driving skills with a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle type.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks as required.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and team members effectively.
* Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes is advantageous.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
* Have your own insured vehicle and smart phone. (Top up insurance for delivery's can be made available at a small daily fee)
