Position Description:

As an Infrastructure Automation Tester, you’ll help shape how innovative technologies are tested, deployed and trusted, working in close partnership with clients to deliver measurable outcomes. Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold Higher level UK Security Clearance, Required on site in Gloucester 5 days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
In this role, you will work within a cross-functional team to design, build and manage automated test environments across client platforms. You will take ownership of infrastructure testing, ensuring new capabilities are robust, repeatable and well-assured, while collaborating closely with development teams, product owners and client stakeholders. You’ll be encouraged to improve tooling, share knowledge and continuously enhance testing pipelines, supported by a culture that values collaboration, learning and innovation.
You will be required to work on site in Gloucester five days per week and hold Authority HLC clearance.
Key responsibilities include:
> Design, build and maintain automated test environments using Infrastructure as Code
> Develop and reuse playbooks, roles and scripts to configure and validate infrastructure
> Build, maintain and improve automated test pipelines with development teams
> Execute and assure testing of complex systems, documenting results for stakeholders
> Collaborate with internal and client teams to support delivery and continuous improvement
> Promote knowledge sharing and best practice across the team and wider client community
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
To succeed, you will have strong experience in infrastructure automation and testing within secure or complex environments, with the ability to work collaboratively, take responsibility for outcomes and adapt to evolving technologies.
Essential qualifications and experience:
> Proven experience using Docker, Ansible and VMware
> Strong scripting skills with Bash and Python, including Pytest
> Experience working with Git and GitLab Enterprise
> Understanding of test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
> Experience working directly with technical stakeholders and delivery teams
> HLC clearance and ability to work on site in Gloucester full time
Desirable experience:
> Terraform, Jenkins and vCenter
> Splunk and Atlassian toolsets
> JavaScript and modern test frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
> Kubernetes and containerisation technologies
