Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to support their finance function and work closely with their Financial Director and wider team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated individual to become an integral part of a friendly, down-to-earth and hard-working team.
💼 The Role – Assistant Management Accountant
As an Assistant Management Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
Preparing monthly management accounts for sign-off by the external accountant
Working closely with the Financial Director and Company Secretary on HMRC-related payments and transactions
Reconciling company credit card expenditure and managing the cash book
Handling bank statement reconciliation and processing payments through the banking system
Managing and supporting both the sales and purchase ledger processes
Overseeing the Credit Controller including debt management and credit checks for new customers
Processing VAT returns and managing direct debit and credit card payment analysis
Involvement in invoice processing and payment runs – working alongside a part-retired colleague
Administering payroll data for processing by external accountants
Coordinating staff holiday tracking and company pension contributions
Reviewing and analysing customer rebates and discounts
👤 The Ideal Candidate - Assistant Management Accountant
We’re looking for someone who is:
Friendly, professional and thrives in a team setting
Organised, methodical and able to work independently
Calm under pressure and confident in a busy finance environment
Flexible and willing to support other departments when needed
Experienced in a similar finance/accounting role, ideally within an SME environment
Confident using accountancy software and Excel for reporting
