Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation. As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months. We are looking for highly motivated university students with a clear passion for engineering and technology, keen to gain skills and knowledge in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for students to join the team for a 12-month industrial placement to gain real-world, hands-on experience within Evolito. You will work as part of a dedicated team on long and short term self-contained projects, will be mentored throughout your work, and will have the freedom to innovate and develop solutions to real challenges. It is likely that successful candidates will come from an engineering background and be able to demonstrate a hands-on, practical ability. During your Power Electronics Industrial Placement Programme, you will play a key role working along side our Power Electronics Teams to design, implement, test and document our controller power hardware. Key focus areas: Supporting the inverter and converter power development and contributing to specification and circuit reviews Supporting the safety case (ARP4754A/DO254) of the system Design and validation of high-power inverters for aerospace applications Simulation and evaluation of thermal models PCB layout design and manufacturing support Evaluating component lifetime, limits and derating Supporting EMC testing and the development of technical files. Skills and experience required: Working towards a degree or equivalent in electrical engineering Knowledge of ECAD tools, EMC testing, and inverter systems Confident with customers and suppliers, able to detail requirements and understand issues A flexible approach to work with the desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams Results-orientated and able to deliver business value Self-motivated with the determination to succeed Willingness to travel as required.
