About the Role We are seeking a knowledgeable Supervising Social Worker to join our team, covering a caseload across Somerset. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled Social Worker to influence and effect change within a dynamic organisation. This position involves working with foster carers and young people to inspire them to reach their full potential. You will share our commitment to delivering high-quality services for children and young people and support our foster parents in this endeavour. As a Supervising Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload of typically 13 fostering families, providing guidance and support when necessary. You will also participate in an out-of-hours on-call service to offer wrap-around support to our foster carers. We are looking for someone who is passionate about contributing to the growth and development of the Fostering service. You should have a relevant professional qualification in Social Work, be registered with Social Work England, and possess experience in a fostering-related social work role or child social care. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of fostering regulations, childcare law, and safeguarding issues. They should be able to make objective professional assessments of children and young people and have access to a car and a valid driving licence. We maintain a safe workforce through robust vetting procedures. The successful applicant will undergo enhanced DBS checks and provide satisfactory references.
