Civils Site Manager Industry: Civil Engineering Contract Type: 12 Months Project Summary We are seeking an experienced Civils Site Manager to lead and manage the delivery of civil engineering projects, with a strong focus on groundworks and civils packages. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role requires expertise in programming and managing construction activities under NEC contracts, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The Civils Site Manager will work closely with project teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution, effective resource management, and commercial performance. A key part of the role is to manage groundworks activities, including excavation, drainage, and foundations, while driving continuous improvement and value engineering opportunities.
Skills Proven experience in Civil Engineering site management
Strong knowledge of civils packages and groundworks
Proficient in programming and construction scheduling
Working knowledge of NEC contracts and contract management
Health, safety, and environmental compliance expertise
Ability to manage subcontractors and site teams effectively
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Cost control and commercial awareness including forecasting and reporting
Risk management and problem-solving capabilities
Experience in producing and implementing Project Plans, RAMS, and ITPs
Software/Tools Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Project programming tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project)
Construction management software (desirable)
Certifications & Standards CSCS Manager Card (or equivalent)
SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
Temporary Works Coordinator (preferred)
Confined Space Awareness (desirable)
Knowledge of CDM regulations and NEC contract conditions
