People Manager - Central England (Operations) – DPD UK
Location: Roebuck Lane, Smethwick, B66 1BY, United Kingdom
Contract: Permanent – 37.5 hours per week
Days of work: Monday to Friday
Hours of work: 09:00 – 17:30
Responsibilities
* Responsible for a team of People Business Partners, ensuring proactive and reactive support is provided to the business in a consistent and professional manner in line with the company D&I strategy.
* Take ownership for the delivery of the People Strategy and ensure key stakeholders understand the impact of operational decisions.
* Communicate regularly with the Head of People and Director of People & Talent on potential risks or opportunities.
* Support the PBP’s in managing complex employee relations casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy.
* Apply P&T and business knowledge evidencing appropriate decision making skills.
* Advise managers on terms and conditions of employment and share best practices.
* Develop P&T policies and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes.
* Work with the Talent team to identify development needs and opportunities.
* Provide first line advice on current and existing issues to senior managers.
* Collaborate with Reward and Benefits to ensure consistent application of the reward strategy.
* Provide advice on recruitment and selection strategies.
* Manage talent and succession planning; drive alignment between the People Strategy and business goals.
* Monitor and review People policies and processes; propose changes where necessary.
* Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures and guidelines to align the workforce with strategic goals.
* Support change management processes.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in managing complex employee relations casework and advising managers on employment terms and conditions.
* Knowledge of People & Talent (P&T) practices and ability to apply them to business decisions.
* Ability to develop and implement HR policies and procedures, and to work with cross-functional teams (Talent, Reward & Benefits).
* Experience in talent and succession planning and driving alignment between HR strategy and business goals.
