You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective running of the shift in our transport operation in Greenford. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to take a step into first line management. This role will offer development training and support to help aspiring managers in their journey within GXO. What you’ll do on a typical day: To support with all required tasks to meet Health & Safety and Operators license compliance To develop, monitor and control the performance of Admin and Drivers To ensure admin tasks of the fleets MOT, servicing, defect process and that all repairs are completed in a timely manner To manage and maintain the vehicles and equipment, ensuring any defects are completed in a timely manner To Liaise with the Planning Team to ensure effective planning and utilisation of the fleet To ensure the effective and timely dispatch and de-briefing of all drivers Comply with QHSE/BRC standards, including managing and driving a good Health and Safety reporting culture What you need to succeed at GXO: Previous experience working in a fast-paced transport team, preferably with exposure to temperature-controlled deliveries, transport compliance and Working Time Directive (Desirable) The ability to effectively communicate in both a written and verbal capacity whilst building relationships with customers. Computer literate, to include Outlook, Word and Excel Due to the shift times, you will need to be able to drive or get to site as local transport is restrictive at these times Ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers & other internal departments IOSH (Desirable) We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
