Senior Quantity Surveyor
Our client, a leading company in the water sector, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is a permanent position offering a fantastic opportunity to manage all cost and contractual aspects of various water projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects based on architectural drawings, specifications, and relevant information.
* Develop detailed project budgets, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.
* Monitor project costs throughout the process and identify areas for cost optimisation.
* Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.
* Source materials and services from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitiveness and adherence to project requirements.
* Administer contracts, preparing contract documents, variations, and claims to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Implement cost control measures to ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.
* Track project expenditure and prepare regular cost reports and forecasts for stakeholders.
* Identify and assess project risks, including cost overruns and delays, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
* Collaborate with project teams to implement risk management measures and monitor their effectiveness.
Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or a related field.
* Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or working towards chartered status is preferred.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
* Water/wastewater experience.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
* Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
