About the job
Vattenfall is looking for an individual to join our dynamic UK HV Operations Team to assist with maintenance and construction services for HV assets across the UK in our Onshore Renewables portfolio.
You will work as part of a highly skilled Engineering division supporting all aspects of HV services to our Onshore Renewable energy sites. As part of our team, you will receive extensive training to develop your skills and knowledge, leading you toward a career as a Senior Authorised Person within the HV utilities sector.

Your role / what will you do?
You will work with a team of skilled HV Engineers, SAPs, and supporting staff across all aspects of the HV industry. A proactive attitude to learning, willingness to travel, and work away when required are highly desirable.
This is a site-based role with a company vehicle provided. Core hours are from to Monday to Friday, with additional hours, overtime, evenings, weekends, and travel abroad frequently available.
You will have a structured training plan with clear objectives to help you achieve your goals. Opportunities for industry-recognised qualifications through day release may be available if required.
Key Accountabilities:
* Maintain HV equipment
* Interpret electrical drawings and records
* Perform electrical testing and fault finding
* Carry out mechanical modifications and repairs
* Complete assessment and reports
* Perform high and low voltage switching as required
* Ensure safety for contractors and personnel
* Assess safety and implement controls
* Complete RAMS, job packs, test certificates, and reports
* Maintain a safe working environment during HV work
* Adhere to Vattenfall standards, policies, and procedures
* Work towards becoming an authorisation engineer for Vattenfall's electrical and mechanical safety rules
* Coordinate with the HV & site team to understand priorities
* Attend training and development sessions
Location
The role is based at Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm in South Wales, with travel to other Vattenfall sites and contractor offices within the UK/Europe as needed.
Your profile
* Training in electrical substation power distribution or related courses is advantageous
* City and Guilds Accredited Power Foundation Course
* Proficient in MS Office
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:
* B Tec Level 3 or equivalent
* Good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
* Organised and tidy
* Confident and proactive
* Problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently or lead a team
* Ability to work at height when required
