This is a key hire within a forward-thinking organisation known for delivering technically robust and sustainable design solutions across healthcare, education, residential, commercial, industrial and public sector developments. Operating internationally with a strong UK presence, the business places sustainability and net-zero carbon design at the core of its engineering philosophy.The Role As Principal Electrical Engineer, you will take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, acting as Project Leader on selected schemes and providing technical guidance to junior engineers. You will:
o Lead electrical design on complex building services projects
o Attend client and principal meetings, delivering presentations where required
o Oversee production of drawings, calculations and specifications
o Promote technical excellence within the team
o Support business development through strong client engagement
o Contribute to technically challenging, sustainability-led schemes
This is a client-facing role offering autonomy, responsibility and genuine progression.The Person We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with:
o Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering (Chartered or working towards preferred)
o Minimum 3–4 years’ post-qualification design experience within Building Services
o Strong knowledge of British & European Standards and Building Regulations
o Experience with Relux/Dialux, Amtech, Revit and Microsoft suite
o Understanding of HV/LV systems and embedded generation
o Knowledge of renewable technologies and BREEAM principles
o Professional membership with Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers or Institution of Engineering and Technology
o Ability to contribute in multidisciplinary meetings with mechanical awareness
o HTM knowledge would be advantageous.
