Job Description:
EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The Paint Shop Supervisor will manage the Paint Shop facility to ensure a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Delivery: Oversee daily operations of paint shop team, providing guidance on all paint shop activities including blasting, prepping, painting, and repairs. Coach and mentor staff to develop skills. Estimate painting times, staffing, and costs to maximize efficiency. Develop and evaluate manufacturing methods considering safety and quality standards. Plan workspace utilization. Conduct quality checks before and after jobs. Minimize re-work. Support the Fitting Shop and meet production targets. Report progress to the Production Manager. Liaise with management regarding capabilities and schedules. Monitor and record performance to improve efficiencies. Streamline purchasing and reduce costs.
2. Performance Improvement: Apply performance management systems, support staff development, acknowledge good performance, and address poor performance.
3. Financial and Resource Management: Ensure the Paint Shop operates efficiently, meets financial targets, and seek innovative solutions for improvements.
4. People Management: Lead and support staff, promote teamwork and continuous improvement, and ensure adherence to equality and health & safety policies. Conduct staff performance reviews, support personal development, and participate in recruitment and disciplinary processes.
5. General Management: Promote equality and diversity, ensure health and safety compliance, uphold company values, and perform other duties as required.
Person Specification:
Qualifications & Experience: Degree qualification with 2-3 years supervisory experience in a similar industry; on-the-job painting experience with heavy machinery. Desirable: Management of a Paint Shop, advising stakeholders, management/leadership qualification.
Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities; organizational and planning skills; proficiency in MS Office. Ability to work flexible hours.
