Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced bench hand joiner. This role requires a hands-on individual with a strong background in joinery, positive attitude, production management, and leadership. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end production process, from prototyping, to final delivery and installation. Key Responsibilities Joinery: Experience in retail display units, POS and shopfitting is essential. Interpret technical drawings or CAD designs and develop design briefs from sketches and 3D visuals. Collaboration with Designers and Project Managers liaising with design and production team to ensure feasibility and practicality of designs. Working with materials like MDF, hardwoods, laminates, acrylics, and occasionally metal or glass. Assembling units with precision, ensuring high-quality finishes and quality of builds Potential for further career development. Quality Control: Inspecting completed work for accuracy, finish, and quality before dispatch or installation. Offering input on materials or construction methods to improve efficiency or aesthetics. Time Management: Managing time effectively to meet tight deadlines, especially for retail campaigns or seasonal rollouts. Manage multiple jobs simultaneously, scheduling workloads and allocating resources effectively. Health & Safety: Adhering to workplace safety standards and maintaining a clean, organised work area. Quoting: Assist in quoting material and labour elements of various types of projects (eg POS) Order all necessary materials including laminates, MDF, paint, stock items (screws, glues, etc.). Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors as required. Key Skills & Experience Proven experience in a joinery or workshop role (3 years preferred). Strong understanding of materials, joinery techniques, and production processes. Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexibly, including site work as and when needed. Positive, can-do attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead a team effectively. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.
