Offer description

At Peabody, we’re committed to keeping our residents safe, supporting thriving communities, and delivering homes people can rely on. Our Fire Remediation Team plays a critical part in this mission, ensuring we meet the requirements of the Building Safety Act 2022 and that our buildings remain safe, compliant, and future‑proof.

We’re now looking for a Fire Remediation Manager (Major Works) to join us and lead the delivery of some of our most important building safety projects.

The Role
As our Fire Remediation Manager, you’ll take the lead on a portfolio of major cladding and fire safety remediation schemes, managing projects from investigation and design through to tendering, on‑site delivery, handover, and final account.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our residents’ safety, working closely with internal colleagues, technical experts, contractors, and external authorities. You’ll bring professionalism, clarity, and confidence to complex projects, keeping everything moving and everyone informed.

This is a hands‑on, highly collaborative role where your expertise will directly improve people’s homes and lives.

What you’ll be doing

Leading the delivery of major remediation projects, ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022.
Managing the full end‑to‑end process: investigation, design development, planning and building control, contractor procurement, site delivery, and completion.
Monitoring quality of workmanship, progress against programme, and contractor performance.
Managing risks, budgets, and commercial considerations throughout each scheme.
Building strong relationships from colleagues and contractors to residents and external stakeholders.
Maintaining the golden thread of information and ensuring high‑quality documentation and reporting.
Championing a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and resident‑focused service.

About you
You’ll be someone who takes ownership, stays calm under pressure, and thrives on seeing complex projects through to completion.

We’re looking for:

Proven experience managing development, refurbishment, or fire remediation schemes.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle budgets, timescales, quality, and risk.
Experience leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams.
Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
Solid understanding of legal, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
Relevant fire safety qualification (e.g., IFE, IFSM, CIOB Level 6) and HNC or above in a related field.
Professional accreditation such as RICS, CIOB, or RIBA is desirable but not essential.

Where you’ll work
Our office day is the second Tuesday of each month at our Waterloo office, of course, much of your time will be spent on site actively managing projects and ensuring safe, high‑quality delivery.

Why Join Us?
You’ll be joining a team that truly values collaboration, innovation, and doing the right thing, where we support our people to grow, learn, and bring their whole selves to work.
At Peabody, our culture is shaped by being kind, doing the right thing, loving new ideas, celebrating diversity, keeping our promises, and pulling together. If you want to make a meaningful difference and help shape safer homes for thousands of residents, we’d love to hear from you.

Here’s what you’ll get when you join us:

Flexible and hybrid working
30 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays
Up to 10% pension contribution, matched 1:1
Two additional paid volunteering days each year
Flexible benefits scheme, including options for healthcare, dental care, and more

If you’re a proactive building safety or construction professional with strong technical judgement, proven experience managing major refurbishment or fire remediation projects, and a commitment to delivering safe, compliant outcomes for residents, we’d be keen to hear from you.
